SpoilersFour years ago in Vegas: the H and h fell madly in love and had planned to marry after four spectacular days together….except the h was a no show to their wedding…and the H didn’t wait for the h. It was a misunderstanding that was not cleared up until four years later…Present: the h is now a doctor and a mother to a four year old daughter. She just accepted a job offer to be the town’s physician. The job was located in the H’s town. The H is a rancher and has steered clear of any romantic entanglements since the h stood him up. Imagine his surprise when he sees that his town had hired the h and that she has a daughter and he’s the father.The attraction is still there for the both of them. Both of them are still mad at each other because of the misunderstanding. They resolve the misunderstanding early on. The H had lost his phone on the way to the chapel and did not receive any of the h’s messages. The h was lending a hand at the hospital after an accident. She called him to let him know that she was going to be late and to wait for her. The H left after waiting for several hours. The h showed up hours later to find that the H did not wait for her. The three of them get their HEA.Likes: the characters were very likable. The misunderstanding was resolved about a third of the way into the book. The Batman obsessed daughter was really cute. The H was a straight up guy and not a man whore. He was a one woman guy. The h was a strong independent female role model.No likes: the book hooked me from the beginning but it started to lose a bit of steam towards the end when everyone got sick. Felt that part was a bit contrived.A good read..3.5 star recommend
Wow. Just wow!! I actually preordered this book but just read it today. Why? I knew I would sit down and not get up till it was done....and then it would be over. I was not disappointed. The oldest Hansen son thought his life would be led alone...Uncle Gunnar to the nieces and nephews but never have his own family. Four years prior on a vacation in Vegas he met Suzanne and they fell passionately in love over a 4 day period. Due to not being able to contact each other , they both thought the other had left them high and dry at the alter. Gunnar went home to the ranch and Suzanne went on to medical school with a little surprise...she was pregnant. Fast forward 4 years and she is hired at the clinic in Prairie. These two...combust when they are together...the love never died. Thats all I'll say on the plot.I am pondering how imperfectly perfect Gunnar, and really all his brothers, cousins, and in-laws are. These rough and tumble ranchers are perfect gentlemen, deferring to their mamma's , they cook, clean, and love their women with no shame. I've read a lot of alien romance and shifter romance books where the male is like this..true they may be a wolf, or a blue alien but they are perfect....very rarely do you see a non-sci fi character with these traits. Yet all Tessa's guys are perfect gentlemen, with perfect manners, and usually a models face and athletes killer body. So bravo. Please pick this book up....but read all the previous books that 1 by 1 introduce the town folk of Prairie. Saying I love this series does not do it justice.
